GOOD NEWS
Micah 6:8, NIV
8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
God’s love for us is not rooted in performance.
He does not love you for what you can do for Him. He loves you because of who you are. You were created in His image, designed for His glory, and nothing you can accomplish will make Him love you more or less.
Micah 6:8 gives us one of the clearest pictures of what the Lord desires from His people. It isn’t endless striving, rule-keeping, or performance.
Instead, it’s three simple but life-changing calls:
Act justly — Live with integrity, treating others fairly in every area of life.
Love mercy — Extend grace and compassion freely, just as God Himself does for us.
Walk humbly with your God — Recognize that we are not the center; He is. Our daily walk is about dependence, not achievement.
The beauty of this verse is in its simplicity: you were not made to perform for God—you were made to walk with Him. His love is unchanging, steady, and personal. And as you act with justice, love mercy, and walk humbly, you reflect the image of the One who made you.
You don’t have to earn His love—you already have it provided you believe in your heart and declare with your mouth “Jesus Is Lord”.
